Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information ClipGet and this website handle, why, and what choices you have. We have tried to keep it plain and short.

The short version

  • There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
  • Links you download are sent to our server so it can find the video. Temporary copies are deleted automatically.
  • Status Saver reads one folder you choose and saves on your phone. Nothing from it is uploaded.
  • The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising ID. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Who we are

ClipGet (“the app”) is an Android app made by Talaash Connect (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the app and this website. By using the app you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What we handle

Links you paste or share

When you tap Download, the video link is sent over HTTPS to our server, which finds the video and the qualities available. For some downloads our server fetches the video and passes it to your phone. Videos fetched this way are kept temporarily and are deleted automatically once they have not been used for about an hour.

If a request fails, our server's logs may record the link and a technical error message. Our hosting provider may also log technical data such as your IP address. We use this only to fix problems and prevent abuse. We do not use it to build a profile of you.

Other services used to read a link

Our server runs on Render (render.com). If a TikTok link cannot be read because TikTok blocks our server, the link may be passed to a third-party service, tikwm.com, to get the video details. The addresses it returns are then used by the app. These services have their own privacy policies.

Information kept only on your device

The app stores these on your phone. We do not receive them:

  • your settings, such as theme and whether clipboard detection is on;
  • your Downloads list (video titles, thumbnails, the source link, quality and status);
  • the names of statuses you have already saved;
  • the folder access you gave to Status Saver.

Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes all of this.

Your clipboard

If “Auto-detect Copied Links” is on (it is on by default), the app looks at the text you copied when you open it, to find a video link. This stays on your phone. A link is only sent to our server when you tap Download. You can turn this off in Settings.

Status Saver

Status Saver reads the photos and videos in the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business status folder, but only after you choose that folder with Android's own folder picker. Reading, previewing and saving all happen on your phone. Nothing is uploaded. Saved copies are ordinary files in your gallery, in an album called ClipGet.

Fonts

The app loads its typeface (Outfit) from Google Fonts. This request is made by your phone to Google, which can see your IP address and device details, as with any web request.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and its fonts are served from the site itself. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and the pages requested) for security and operation.

App permissions

  • Internet and network state: to find and download videos and to show ads.
  • Notifications: to show download progress. Android asks you first.
  • Background service: to keep downloads running when you switch to another app, including keeping the phone awake while a download runs.
  • Folder you choose: for Status Saver only. You can remove it by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings.
  • Write storage (Android 9 and older only): to save videos to your gallery.
  • Advertising ID: used by Google's ads library, see the next section.

The app does not ask for your contacts, location, camera, microphone, messages or calls.

Ads and consent

ClipGet is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob, on the Home and Downloads screens. To show and measure ads, Google may collect device information, including your Android advertising ID, IP address, device and app details, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, and how you interact with ads. Ads may or may not be personalised, depending on your consent and your device settings.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other places where the law requires it, the app shows Google's consent form before ads are requested. You can change your choice any time in Settings, under “Ad Privacy Choices” (this row appears where it applies). You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in your Android settings.

Who we share with

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Google, through its ads and fonts services, as described above;
  • our hosting provider, which runs our server;
  • the link-reading service named above, only in the TikTok case described there;
  • authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

How long we keep it

  • Temporary video files on our server: deleted after about an hour without use.
  • Server logs: kept only as long as needed to fix problems and prevent abuse, then removed.
  • Data on your phone: until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it.
  • Ad data: handled by Google under its own policies. See the links in the Ads section.

Children

ClipGet is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and think a child has given us information, please contact us and we will help.

Your choices and rights

  • Turn off clipboard detection in Settings.
  • Clear temporary files with “Clear Temporary Cache” in Settings.
  • Change your ad consent in Settings, or reset your advertising ID in Android.
  • Remove everything the app stores by clearing its storage or uninstalling it.

Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, the UK or California), you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to complain to your data protection authority. We do not sell personal information. Because the app has no accounts, we usually cannot connect any data to you. If you want us to look for or delete a link or log entry, email us the details and we will reply within 30 days.

Security

The app talks to our server over HTTPS. We take reasonable steps to protect what we handle, but no method of storing or sending data is completely secure.

Our hosting and Google's services may process information in countries other than your own.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. If a change is important, we will also tell you in the app.
